Abstract
In this thesis we have attempted to develop a new model for sound synthesis based on diffraction theory. Unlike the other methods, the synthesis method proposed in this thesis makes use a physical model which is based on diffraction theory. The main contribution of this thesis is the development of a physical model based on diffraction theory which can be used to analyze and synthesize audio and visual signals.
