Tahir, Hassam (2023) Modelling of switched beam antenna with beam tracking for Vehicle-to-Vehicle communications. Masters thesis, Multimedia University. Full text not available from this repository.Abstract
This research introduces an innovative solution for robust Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication using switched beam antennas at both transmission and receiving ends. We present a mathematical model and an algorithmically efficient beam management system that dynamically focuses power within each beam, adapting seamlessly across various driving scenarios. Additionally, a contingency mechanism is proposed to ensure system reliability in scenarios where real-time Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) information might be inaccessible. Optimization is further enhanced by the application of machine learning algorithms. Key performance metrics such as time to collision, Bit Error Rate (BER), Packet Error Rate (PER), average throughput, beam selection probability, and computational complexity were employed to evaluate the system’s effectiveness. Comparative studies against traditional models reveal our proposed approach’s enhanced efficiency and reliability for vehicular communication applications.
