Abstract

Employee burnout is a more prominent issue in many organizations' workforces. Employee burnout has brought an unwelcoming repercussion towards organizations in meeting their business goal and disrupting their daily operations. This research aims to examine the primary variables influencing burnout among corporate employees in Klang Valley, Malaysia context. Drawing on Maslach's burnout theory, the study examines four key dimensions: job autonomy, organizational support, work-life balance and leadership style. Data from 150 corporate employees in various industries in Klang Valley, Malaysia, has been collected quantitatively using an online self-reporting questionnaire. The study makes significant hypotheses about the correlations between each burnout dimension and overall burnout among employees and the differences in burnout levels between genders. Using SPSS software, statistical analyses such as regression and correlation were carried out to test the hypotheses and determine the most important factors. This study fills a knowledge gap regarding burnout among Malaysian corporate workers and attempts to help organizations create focused interventions and policies to lessen employee burnout. The results may have consequences for organizational culture, employee welfare programs, and human resource management (HRM) procedures in the developing work environment.
