Female labor force participation rate has been increasing rapidly over the past decades thereby changing the structure at the workforce and the globe at large. Family life has been impacted by these changes in a variety of ways, but the nuclear traditional family has been the most significant alteration. Thus, this study provided an understanding on psychological stress, which is more prevalent in working mothers, and is defined as generalized signs of stress, anxiousness, and frustration. Due to the increase of women in the workforce and the fact that women are still the primary caretakers of children; working mothers are confronted with the challenges of balancing the role of motherhood as well as that of an employee. Hence, they may experience weariness, conflicts, work overload, and frustration as an outcome. This paper is a review of literatures from various scholars and experts that explores the root causes of the existing problems faced by the working mothers. The intention was to research the factors that impact the psychological stress of working mothers employed by private corporations. It also aims at finding feasible solutions that have been practiced elsewhere and needs to be adopted at other social fronts. Hence, 120 working mothers took part in the survey that was done for this research. The study employed descriptive analysis, regression analysis, and correlation techniques to determine the findings. Cronbach's alpha reliability metrics were utilized to evaluate the internal reliability of the survey questionnaire as well as the dependability of the scale employed in this research. The findings of this study proved that the only factor with a significant impact on psychological stress is work-family conflict. Employment has certainly given women the independence and societal prestige they desire by satisfying their financial needs, but it has pushed them to balance their two main spheres of existence: work and family. Considering this, it may be said that working mothers experienced greater psychological stress. The findings of this research are expected to assist in the implementation of initiatives to promote healthy boundaries, offer psycho - education, and facilitate social support to working mothers.
