Abstract
This paper discusses a simulation based comparative study of a piezoelectric energy harvester utilizing a bimorph and unimorph cantilever beam configuration alongside two diffe3rent kinds of piezoelectric materials. The study investigates the performance characteristics of these configurations concerning energy generation efficiency, voltage output and frequency bandwidth. Results revealed distinct operational differences in energy conversion efficiency, voltage output and frequency bandwidth. The bimorph beam configuration has a voltage output rate 39.78% higher than the voltage output of unimorph structured cantilever beam at a lower frequency with a broader frequency bandwidth. Similarly, the inorganic piezoelectric material (PZT-5A) demonstrated superior voltage generation over the organic material’s performance. The findings offer valuable guidance for enhancing the performance and application-specific customization of piezoelectric energy harvesting.
