Abstract
The increase in human population and satisfaction needs has precedented impacts on natural resources inflicting the cost of living. Food is a vital source for living, tracing back to its source reveals the underlying concern of harvest waste. Therefore, effective management of crops supply chain is critical. Amid it, Internet of Things technology is gaining popularity in tackling concerns and eliminating tedious tasks. This paper investigates the utilization of IoT devices and data analytics to track and enhance different phases of the harvest chain. The proposed framework, Harvesters IoT System, breaks down interconnected monitoring systems into subsystems to improve interoperability and provide simplicity for management facilitation. By leveraging real-time data, predictive analytics, and automated processes, this framework addresses inefficiencies in the supply chain, ensuring that crops are harvested, stored, and distributed with minimal wastage.
