Abstract

The aims of this study were to examine the influential factors on the intention to accept healthcare wearables among Malaysians. This study situates itself within the realm of technology acceptance, particularly focusing on healthcare wearables in Malaysia. The purpose of this study is in line with the Strategic Thrust in 11th Malaysia Plan to improve the well-being of all Malaysians regardless of socioeconomic background. Being the first of its kind, this study proposes a conceptual model to investigate the factors that influence patients’ acceptance to use healthcare wearables in a developing country, Malaysia. The findings of this study can be utilised by digital health wearables manufacturers, marketers, and health practitioners in developing better strategies to increase the patients’ acceptance to use this technology.
