Abstract

The study focuses on the influence of the coloured brain on the relationship between leadership and organisational performance. The business environment is susceptible to the forces that will influence its operations. These forces, such as the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, are beyond the control of any organisation, let alone government leaders. The spread of COVID-19 collapsed many businesses, including large conglomerates. Almost all business sectors were affected by COVID-19. The business environment has turned volatile, unpredictable, complicated, and ambiguous. Leaders must understand their workforce to influence them effectively. Influencing the current workforce requires good communication skills. The current workforce is diverse in terms of age, gender, beliefs, and perceptions. Visible diversities can be easily managed. Nevertheless, invisible diversities require skills. Invisible diversities, such as beliefs and perceptions, influence employees' way of thinking and their approach towards work. A questionnaire was distributed to 110 executives from the organisation who participated in the study. In this analysis, the colour brain is the mediating variable, while the qualities of an effective leader are the independent variable. The dependent variable is organisational performance. The findings revealed that the coloured brain mediates the relationship between effective leaders and organisational performance. Hence, a coloured brain enhances leadership. The findings implied the importance and significance of a coloured brain. A coloured brain not only improves communication across all levels but strengthens the Misunderstandings can be managed and create harmony in the workplace.
