Abstract

COVID-19 is a highly contagious disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome SARS-CoV- 2 virus. The disease was first detected in Wuhan, China December 2019, causing the lockdown of the entire city, and quickly spread around the world, leading WHO to declare it as a global pandemic on 11 March 2020. Since that, Covid-19 has caused over 6 million of fatality, negatively impacting public health, as well as socio- economic activities worldwide. - Satellite imagery today plays an essential role in epidemiology studies as it assists governments and health professionals to understand and handle the pandemic effectively as well as measure the pandemic's economic and ecological impacts.
