Abstract
With the onslaught of global pandemic (Covid-19) in early 2020, the prevalence of anxiety and depression has been increasing among members of the society. The time when the highest rate of psychological distress was reported was correlated with the increased mortality from COVID-19 and the time of national lockdowns. In Malaysia, it’s reported that one in three individuals experienced mild-to-severe depression and stress during the nationwide lockdown. Eventually, people develop different coping mechanisms and among them include daily exercise, yoga and meditation. The motivation for this project is to help individuals to take mental health and motivations at work in their own hands. The prototype of the project – “Stress Grip” is a smarter fitness grip that allows users to release pent up stress before reminding them to get back to work with a buzzer tune.
