Abstract
❏ Since the movement restriction order was enforced, the automobile industries such as Grab, Food Panda, and DHL had risen to meet the demand for delivery services. ❏ This leads to an increase in traffic accidents, which resulted in the loss of lives and properties. ❏ According to a survey done by the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (Miros), 70% of the food delivery riders breach traffic regulations while on a delivery run . ❏ According to data from the Social Security Organization, there were more than 150 traffic accidents involving food delivery riders from March to June last year . ❏ According to the data from ITARDA 1996-2006, the ratio of fatal/serious injuries tends to increase with time. Longer waiting time contributes to a more severe injury. ❏ Hence, smart vehicle surveillance system is employed to send an alert notification to the vehicle's company whenever a collision is detected. This enables immediate action to take place. ❏ Besides, smart vehicle surveillance system has real-time location tracking features. This can be used for both performance tracking and safety purposes.
