Abstract

Cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) was extracted from jute fiber via chemomechanical method. TPU nanocomposites was prepared by dispersing the 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 wt% of extracted CNFs by using melt blending method in the internal batch mixer at 185oC. Mechanical analysis such as tensile and hardness test was done according to ASTM D638 and ASTM E384 to study the strength of the prepared nanocomposites. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) was done to investigate the chemical composition and bonding in the prepared nanocomposites. Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) was used to determine the melting temperature of prepared nanocomposites.
