Abstract

We live in a world where the use of technology is fast increasing. We live in a technology 4.0 era where our day to day activities can be done using the internet. We send and receive emails, videos, pictures and audios with just a click. But have we ever thought of the security of our data transmitted over the Internet? The answer lies in cyber security. In this research project, we suggested possible policies to improve cyber security in Malaysia using the design thinking approach. Popularised by the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (d.school at Stanford), Design Thinking has been used in accelerator programs, assist creative leadership and innovation. We examined the Information System problems in a five-stage approach—Empathy, Define, Ideation, Prototype and Testing. We further collected data from working adults via questionnaires and interviews for a brief analysis and a game changer solutions were then designed through the analyses. We proposed an apps called Cyber Polygram. It is an app for community group for interaction on cybersecurity policies. The app was envisioned to integrate Artificial intelligence capabilities of Alexa smart speaker for essential reminders and analytics. We conclude that DT method has been instrumental for this project in solving real world problems.
