Abstract

This study provides to the extant knowledge on organizational sustainability by investigating the relationships between capacity building through providing proper training for employee and business alignment and their impact on the adoption of Industry 4.0 (IR 4.0). Several hypotheses were developed to scrutinize the links, considering the role of industry 4.0 as the mediating variable. The study may help the policy-makers and practitioners of Malaysia because, a few countries in the world already adopted the latest technology of Industry 4.0; Malaysia has a great potential opportunity to enter into the era of IR 4.0 as their present industrialization is varying within 2.0 (mass production) and 3.0 (automation). Hence, an integrated model of IR 4.0 and sustainability should be introduced for Malaysian SMEs to gain the essence of industry 4.0. This research is designed to employ a cross-sectional survey and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) will be used for data analysis.
