Abstract

The aim of this project is to study several buffering strategies for optical packet switching (OPS) under limited packet sorting. Three new schemes, which consist of sorting and finding the least buffer occupancy abilities, are investigated. Results show that these schemes can manage the FDL buffers more efficiently in an OPS switch compared to the simple round robin scheme.
