Abstract

The research study aimed to present an overlook about the use of computer as mediator in language teaching and learning with emphasis on the educational behaviorism impact that this pedagogical involvement has on Second Language Acquisition (SLA) when working with university students. Although many researchers have been conducted in the field of Language Teaching and Learning; none is meant to provide linguistics and computer educational-insights as this research-study attempts to do regarding the applications of methodological trends such as Blended Learning (BL) and Flipped Learning (FL) when working with Spanish language novice learners, whose were required to study this language subject during the COVID-19 period. In this regard, the methodology based on Computer Assisted Modes could satisfy the university demand. This study has used an oriented method based on the inclusion of quantitative and qualitative research techniques to validate the framework of the study. This research criteria involved data collection and revision from prior research-studies and Internet web-pages and a survey conducted among 100 students at Multimedia University, Malaysia. The outcome revealed that the teaching and learning of Spanish language as second foreign language can be properly and efficiently conducted by using computer as mediator into the educational process of teaching and learning the L2. It also showed that the incorporation of tech-applications tends to benefit not only the process of the L2 acquisition but the self-learning which impacts positively the long-learning processes as well. The present study is very valuable for language teachers interested in setting; tracking, tracing and evaluating second language learner’s assignments by using the benefits of the Digital Age.
