Abstract

I refer to a letter by LT who was fearful upon reading news that the 2021 Budget may not see a smooth passage in the Dewan Rakyat. The teacher in a government secondary school in Seremban is told that if Budget 2021 is voted down, there will be a government shutdown and the salaries of civil servants will not be paid from January. Let's take a ride back in time to 1999. It was October 29, 1999 and Budget Day. Tun Daim Zainuddin was then Finance Minister. He duly presented the proposed Budget 2000 - Supply Bill 2000.
