Abstract

This study presents the experimental results of earthing systems under steady state and transient conditions. To date, only a limited amount of research has been documented regarding earthing systems under transient conditions. In this work, earthing systems with specific dimensions are constructed. The apparent soil resistivity is measured using the Wenner method. Master Curves (MC) and Genetic Algorithms (GA) are used for interpretation in order to determine the soil parameters. The earth resistance of the earthing system is measured using the Fall-of-Potential method as described in the standards.
