Abstract

The problems of disorientation and cognitive overload highlight the need for ontological structures and different degrees of granularity in presentation. This paper presents a 3-dimensional visualization of concepts structured ontologically using the concept lattice. Concepts are composited to enable different levels of abstraction in presentation and focus. Pilot test results indicate that students are positive about the 3-dimensional composited means of navigation and information retrieval.
