Abstract

This study attempts to examine the relationship between Economic development and carbon dioxide emissions generated by different sectors in Malaysia over the period of 1970-2007, by using Co-integration and Granger Causality tests. The findings of the study reveal that there is a unidirectional Granger causality running from GDP,as the determinant of economic growth, and carbon dioxide emission produced by the Transportation sector.
