Abstract

The typical approach of outgrowth and differentiation of neurites is neurite tracing, which involves finding and tracking individual neurites. The difficulty mostly stems from the morphological issue that these images contain ambiguities such neurite discontinuities and intensity differences. This paper presents a method to enhance the structures of the neruronal images using coherence-enhanced diffusion (CED) to allow for a better segmentation of the neuronal structures.
