Abstract

5G technology is the latest iteration of mobile wireless communication. It not only ensures widespread coverage but also supports for all services covered by the previous technology. To achieve this milestone, the antenna design for 5G should compact and wideband. Single negative metamaterial is used to achieve miniaturization and the wideband characteristic is achieved by deploying defected ground structure. The proposed antenna is fabricated and measured which shows good agreement with the simulation.
