Abstract

Purpose of the study • This study is aligned with Oman's 2040 Vision which focuses on moving the country towards lean management in the public sector & lean manufacturing in the private sector. • Six sigma/Lean Six Sigma has recently been gradually and slowly implemented in manufacturing organizations in Oman. • This study aims to fill a research gap by assessing the current status of Oman manufacturing organizations’ Six Sigma/Lean Six Sigma deployment, their impact on business growth after deploying them, the factors that supported this adaptation, and the most significant challenges faced during this implementation. • It also aims to develop a lean six sigma deployment and maturity model in addition to some recommendations and guidelines to improve the implementation of LS/LSS in manufacturing organizations in Oman. • Chakravorty (2009) believes that many LSS implementations fail to achieve the benefits of LSS because there is no sufficient LSS deployment model "to guide the implementation.
