Abstract

Background - As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, so do the risks we face. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected people regardless of nationality, level of education, income, or gender. The lockdowns in response to COVID-19 have interrupted conventional teaching in universities. Medical faculties face one of the greatest challenges as they have to find a balance between digitalized teaching and clinical experiences that both are crucially important. To educate and train future medical staffs, which are desperately needed now, digitalized teaching and learning applications have to be carried out effectively and efficiently. Purpose - This research aims to understand psychological factors when implementing digital education among medical students. It has highlighted the aspects of psychology, such as emotions and anxiety, faced by medical students. It has helped us understand the importance of online education in challenging situations such as the pandemic covid-19 condition. Design/methodology/approach - The research methodology is the main questionnaire that will be designed and distributed to the targeted medical students and educators in China to collect both qualitative and quantitative data. The questionnaire questions, such as motivation, satisfactory level, and learning outcome, will be mainly designed from psychological factors. The simple random sampling & purposive sampling approaches will allow the researcher to access a large sample for gathering information. The researcher also used secondary data sources and PLS data analysis. Findings - This research is expected to contribute to higher education institutions, especially to medical faculty, which requires both theoretical and practical knowledge in teaching syllabus. This research will assist the medical faculty in time-saving, faculty reputation, course content quality, increased number of international students, etc., but also allow students to express their real concerns and problems during online learning. There are several studies on digitalized education. However, there are no specific studies about the psychological factors in perceiving digitalized education management among medical students. Research limitations - With the advancement of mechanization, teachers are not equally trained with its proper implementation. Originality/value - Research related to digitalized education has just been begun and is still being researched. There is a lack of data and studies on the roles of digitalized education management in medical faculty. Lack of studies conducted on the psychological factors during the implementation of digitalized education.
