Abstract

A microstrip antenna with single circular element which operate for ultra-wideband frequency applications is presented. The proposed antenna is designed on a borosilicate glass with thickness of 3 mm and dielectric constant of 4.6. Chomerics’ CHO-FOIL tape is chosen for radiating patch and ground plane with thickness of 0.0356 mm and resistivity of (<0.0005) W/ܿ݉2. Ground plane is etched with a rectangular slot and microstrip line feeding with 50 : input impedance as feeding technique so that they can achieve wider bandwidth and satisfy the requirement of impedance matching. This paper will presents a single patch antenna operate over frequency band of 1.8 GHz to 10.8 GHz despite most of the conventional antennas which function in the frequency range 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz. Simulation results of antenna such as return loss (S11), radiation pattern and Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) are obtained by using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) microwave studio
