Abstract

In a mobile-based and home tele-health care monitoring applications, continuous recording of biomedical signals is needed for some patients in order to monitor the vital signs. ▪ Large volume of recorded information that has to be stored and transmitted. ▪ Compression of the signals is essential because of limited storage in mobile-based devices and limited bandwidth available for transmission. ▪ Compression is essential to satisfy the long-term storage requirement of large biomedical databases in major hospitals and also for tele- medicine applications. ▪ Encryption algorithm is significant to ensure privacy preservation during the transmission and storage.
